  ABC is one of those cheap and available (open til 2am!) Hong Kong-styled foods where the food isn't particularly amazing, but it gets the job done. They go the route of quantity over quality, with big portion sizes of rice and noodles. Even the restaurant itself is pretty big for the district it's in.
  
  I got the wonton noodle soup where, although the noodles and soup base were just ok, the wontons were great. If I had to order it again, I'd probably just get the wontons. First off, the size of each wonton is huge. Second off, when you bite into it, you get a whole shrimp along with the minced pork. It doesn't do anything fancy (no chives, no mushrooms), but sometimes the simple things go pretty far on their own.
  
  I can see why people don't rate it very highly; because 1) the service isn't terrible great, and 2) they don't speak English. And yea, if you're not a Cantonese-speaker, this may not be the best experience for you. In terms of service, we got seated quickly and got our food almost immediately after ordering, but it took a bit of effort to get our service to refill water and get our check. I wouldn't say ABC is the best place in the city, but it definitely has a certain demographic it appeals to. (Old Chinese people. And their kids.)

  There was a long wait at Ming Tai so decide to give this place a try.  I ordered the porridge of the day, and also a plate of 2 roasted meats, Roast Pork and Roast Duck.    
  
  The taste of the food was passable with overload of MSG.  I know most Chinese food have MSG but this place exceed my tolerance limit.   All the meat products seem of the lowest quality and taste old.   I got a severe headache and felt really giddy from the MSG in the porridge.  The pork bone meat tasted like old expired meat in the porridge.
   
  The plate of 2 roast meats were $17.  Skin of roast pork was well done and crispy.  However, the meat of the pork tasted slimmy and off.  Huge serving of roast duck drumstick and other dark meat but again the meat tasted old and squishy.  I am not sure how to describe the bite feel  but it does not have texture of duck..   I took 1 piece or duck meat and 2 piece of roast pork just for the skin. I left everything on the table and did not bother to take anything home.
  I spent $35 and came away feeling sick and dizzy.  It's been 9 hours since I had the meal.  I still have a throbbing headache with a fussy feeling in the head.  Will never go there again.

  I was pleasantly surprised by this place as I was not expecting too much but the quality of the food was better than expected. Came here with my parents and wife for dinner. We came early so we didn't have to wait for a table but the tables were mostly filled by the time we left. The service was fine and the food came very quickly. Food was yummy. This is what we ordered:
  
  Baked seafood rice
  Hot plate with shrimp and fish
  Salt and pepper ribs
  Pea sprouts
  Braised lamb and bean curd
  
  I would come back for sure!

  The place replaced the ABC bakery café that was at the same location. The hardware seems to have been refreshed a bit but not new. Some seems the menu.  A slight improvement but the same fair. So If you line an HK style café, this place will usually have a table.  The food quality is okay. The best is across the street at Ming Lee.

  I was reeeallly skeptical coming here... However, the bf was feeling like eating a chinese rice plate and I had already talked him out of it the weekend before (going to Cafe Bakery instead!) but not this weekend, no.
  
  I always love places that give you a set combo (entree that includes soup and hk tea/coffee/lemon tea), but unfortunately, ABC Tea Kee only has that during lunch and ends at 2pm. (however, they do give you complimentary soup with your entry)
  
  Bf got the fillet fish plate with black bean sauce. It was super tasty. He liked it very much. The fish was super tender and there were the usuals - onions, peppers, black bean. Mmm. The only thing I thought was weird was - there was a HUGE portion of rice.
  
  I got myself a veggie and chicken chow fun because I was craving it. Lol. It was alright. Not too greasy or oily, but tasted a little burnt? The bf said there was no taste but of course there was no taste after his black bean sauce dish.
  
  All in all, it was decent and the free soup was delicious. The space is big and clean. The staff were friendly enough. I would come again, when the bf talks me into it.
